OUR QUALIFICATION:

SAFETY MANAGEMENT – LEVEL 5

THE PURPOSE OF THE QUALIFICATION IS TO PREPARE LEARNER FOR THE MANAGEMENT POSITIONS WITHIN THE FIELD OF SAFETY MANAGEMENT. ON COMPLETION LEARNERS WILL DEMONSTRATE VOCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND APPLIED COMPETENCE AND THE NECESSARY ATTITUDES IN THE FIELD OF SAFETY MANAGEMENT. TO BECOME LIFELONG LEARNERS AND EMPLOYABLE WORKERS AND CONTRIBUTERS TO THE FIELD OF MANAGEMENT IN VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS. THE QUALIFICATION IS INTENDED FOR PERSONS WHO CAN FUNCTION AT AN OPERATIONAL AND TACTICAL(FUNCTIONAL) LEVEL.

THIS QUALIFICATION WILL BE PRESENTED BOTH ONLINE AND DISTANCE LEARNING MODELS.

About Baralong Safety Consulting

Our passion is to ensure that all our clients meet the requirements of the OHS Act.

Founded in 2019, Baralong Safety Consulting emerged from SHEQ-GROUP and Tondalushaka Construction (est. 2015). Following a director split in 2019, the company rebranded and has since focused on delivering expert Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) services across various industries.

We are a 100% black-owned, Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, and proudly registered with SAIOSH, SACPCMP, and the Department of Labour as an Approved Inspection Authority. Our goal is simple: to help businesses prevent workplace accidents through professional Consulting, Auditing, and Training.

Led by Managing Director Pfarelo Mudau, who brings over 8 years of SHEQ experience, our team combines both technical and practical knowledge. One of our directors — a woman with over 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer and Assistant Site Manager — strengthens our leadership, contributing valuable safety planning insights.

Meet the Team

Pfarelo Mudau is a technically oriented professional with over 8 years of experience in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ). He has served in various roles including SHEQ Officer, SHE Coordinator, and SHE Manager across multiple industries. Pfarelo is a registered member of SACPCMP and SAIOSH. In 2011, he received a recognition award as a top-performing young Safety Coordinator at Pioneer Foods, where he was also nominated as one of South Africa’s best young safety performers.

Pfarelo Mudau Managing Director (Co-founder)

With over 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer, she has contributed significantly to the technical, organizational, and supervisory aspects of construction projects — always with a strong focus on health and safety. Her expertise includes setting out and marking locations for infrastructure, both above and below ground, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and the wellbeing of workers. She has managed site security, resource coordination, and safety supervision across projects ranging from small-scale developments to multi-million-rand ventures, including civil, road, and infrastructure works. As part of the site management team, she also provided guidance on developing SHE plans, baseline risk assessments, and the technical execution of projects. Her role as a site engineer has been vital in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant construction operations.
